Dr. Russell Waugh has been practicing dentistry in Lexington since 1980. At Smiles of the Bluegrass we pride ourselves on our comforting home-like environment. Our office is on the first floor of a townhouse, so you can park right at the door. Because of our low-key, jovial environment our staff tends to stick around. So when you come in for your appointment, it feels more like visiting family and old friends. In fact, a lot of our patients have been with us since the beginning and we see them as family too. We don’t believe in pressuring anyone into treatment they don’t need or want. The best part of our day is when we can relieve someone’s pain or help improve their cosmetic appearance.

Meet the Smiles of the Bluegrass Family

Dr. Russell Waugh, III

Dr. Waugh wasn’t born in Lexington but he’s lived here since childhood. He attended Henry Clay High School and the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate degree in Biology and for dental school. He had an uncle who was a dentist and that is what inspired him. In his free time, he enjoys golf and occasionally fly fishing for trout in the Cumberland River.

Gina

Gina has been in dentistry for 39 years. She works at the front desk and also as an assistant when needed. Working with Dr. Waugh has been a delightful experience every day. Gina enjoys the laid back atmosphere and working with her co-workers. She enjoys their patients and how they feel like family. In her spare time she enjoys music, playing her baritone ukulele, reading, gardening, antiquing and learning anything new.

Amanda

Amanda graduated from The Institute of Dental Technology with a certificate in dental assisting. She enjoys working in dentistry.

“We really do have a lot of fun with patients, making them laugh and feel at ease while in the dental chair.”

Maddie

Maddie graduated from BCTC in 2011. She is a certified in Local Anesthesia, Nitrous Oxide, Laser and Phlebotomy. Her favorite part of working for Dr. Waugh is the amazing patients, staff and atmosphere. She enjoys making patients laugh and feel comfortable during their visits. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her fiancé Bryan, her family, playing video games and also enjoys all things Batman and Star Wars related.
